Personal income in county also on the rise
Hancock County was the second fastest growing county in Indiana in 2025, continuing a trend of success that has been underway for the past several years.
The county posted a 2.4% population gain last year, falling just behind Boone County’s 2.6%, according to analysis by the Indiana Business Research Center at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates Hancock County’s population at 90,969.
Clark County in the Louisville metro area was next in 2025 with a 2.1% increase. Central Indiana’s Hamilton (1.9%), Johnson (1.9%), Hendricks (1.4%), Morgan (1.2%) and Madison (1.1%) counties claimed the next five spots.
Hancock County was also the second fastest growing county in the state in 2024 and fastest in 2023.

Hancock and Boone counties also had the largest gains in personal income growth at 7.6% in 2024, according to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
