Empowering Hancock County’s Economic Growth
At the Hancock Economic Development Council (HEDC), our commitment to the community is at the heart of everything we do. By championing local enterprises and spearheading initiatives spanning entrepreneurship, workforce development, housing, and site development, we foster collaboration among stakeholders to fortify Hancock County’s economy.
Over the past five years, we have overseen the creation of almost 20 million square feet of industrial development. Most of these projects have centered on attracting new companies seeking relocation to our strategic location in Central Indiana.
With direct access to I-70, an extensive network of highways, railway connectivity, and the Indianapolis Regional Airport, coupled with a skilled and ever-expanding labor shed workforce of over 2 million in the nearby vicinity, rapid access to essential resources, and a remarkable 114 million individuals within a single day’s truck drive, the allure of Hancock County is evident to businesses far and wide.
The mission of the Hancock Economic Development Council is to enhance the quality of life in Hancock County by attracting and retaining quality jobs and promoting a diversified tax base. The HEDC’s vision for the future is connecting opportunity to economic success, leading to innovation and growth for residents and businesses.
