The Hancock Economic Development Council welcomes the Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA) to its membership.

IMPA is a not-for-profit utility providing 61 communities–including the Hancock County seat of Greenfield–with a wholesale power supply that is low-cost, reliable, and environmentally responsible. The Agency will be represented on the HEDC by Victoria Ross-Frost, Economic Development Manager.
IMPA began operations in 1983 and is governed by its members. Member utilities purchase their power requirements from IMPA and deliver that power to the residents and companies in their service territories. Altogether, IMPA members deliver electric service to over 350,000 individuals throughout Indiana and Ohio. The Agency is also engaged in economic development efforts in its communities, and believes that a strong industrial and commercial base helps support the overall welfare of a community.
With a diverse power supply portfolio including a mix of its own generating capacity and purchased power, IMPA’s active management of power costs and service quality makes it one of the country’s most competitive power providers.
The Agency also offers an array of member services, including hands-on training and sponsoring local events.
