Broadway reconstruction finishes in Fortville

It may have been cold and dreary outside, but spirits were warm and bright as officials cut the ribbon on a newly reconstructed thoroughfare in Fortville Friday morning.

The project improved Broadway Street/U.S. 36/State Road 67/Pendleton Pike in Fortville between Garden Street and State Road 13. It also included a multi-use path and sidewalk along the road and improved its intersection with Maple Street.

The undertaking reduced Broadway’s through travel lanes from four to two, resulting in a lane in each direction with a center two-way left turn lane.

“This project has certainly made the entrance to our town something to slow down for, and hopefully for people to stop and enjoy all that we have to offer,” Fortville Town Council President Tonya Davis said.
