Department of Education awards summer learning grants

The Indiana Department of Education is awarding four organizations funding to increase summer programming for 3,000 kids.

The Expanding What Works grants are designed to enable organizations to expand the Indy Summer Learning Labs initiative to more communities throughout the state.

Indianapolis-based education not-for-profit The Mind Trust and the Lavinia Group in New York will provide five weeks of reading and math lessons for first through ninth-grade students, teacher planning resources, pre- and post-assessments and virtual onboarding training.
