Tsuda USA celebrated its 10th anniversary of manufacturing automobile parts in western Hancock County.

After first establishing in September 2012, the company started mass production in February 2014 at 2934 Jannetides Blvd., where its plant currently spans 218,000 square feet.

Its parent company, Tsuda Industries Co., is headquartered in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, and is affiliated with Toyota Motor Corporation.

Tsuda USA uses a variety of technologies to manufacture its products, which include automobile parts for brakes, chassis, bodies, air conditioners, hybrid units, and drive trains.

In November 2016, the plant had its first expansion of 68,900 square feet.

Earlier this week, Tsuda executives from Japan traveled to Hancock County to celebrate the anniversary and tour the plant. Tours provided a look at equipment that allows the company to achieve the same amount of production with less labor, and capabilities that allow for the creation of a piece in less than a second.

Along with Japan and the U.S, Tsuda also has locations in China, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The Hancock Economic Development Council is grateful for Tsuda’s presence in the county, and looks forward to its success for many more decades to come.
