News, Success Stories

The Hancock Economic Development Council celebrated its 40th anniversary this week with not only those helping the organization do its important work, but those who helped it get its start as well.

HEDC Executive Director Randy Sorrell addresses attendees at the organization's 40th anniversary party.

Revelers gathered at Bradley Hall Events in Greenfield, Indiana on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025 for the event--just a week after the HEDC turned 40 on September 3rd.

Addressing attendees, including several who were instrumental in starting the HEDC four decades ago, Executive Director Randy Sorrell highlighted all of the attention and success Hancock County has been experiencing recently.

“It's because of the reputation that this community has for being business friendly, and we know how to do this because 40 years ago people developed the framework that we work in today," he said. "I’m excited we’re able to do this.”
