HEDC Executive Director Randy Sorrell has been nominated for the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Businessman of the Year.

The award will be announced at the Chamber’s 2025 Community Walk of Fame on June 26th. Also among the nominees for Businessman of the Year are Fred “Fritz” Fentz of ServiceMaster & Denver’s Garage Pizza & Brew in Fortville and Jason White of White & Jocham, a Greenfield-based estate planning law firm.

The Community Walk of Fame will also bestow awards for Businesswoman of the Year, Community Hero of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year, Entrepreneurial Spirit of the Year, and Chamber Champion of the Year. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Michael Parish Life Center in Greenfield. Go here for tickets and more information.

Sorrell has served as Executive Director of the Hancock Economic Development Council since 2019. In that time, he has helped land major developments in the County including Yamaha Marine Precision Propellers, Walmart’s largest fulfillment center in the world, and the Amplify Hancock Innovation Center. The attorney joined the HEDC Board of Directors in 1999 and then its Executive Committee four years later, a position he held until becoming Executive Director.
