They pack boxes, prepare pallets, and move goods quickly every day to make a living and keep the economy moving. But on Wednesday, they did it for bragging rights and to celebrate their important contributions to society.
The 2025 Pallet Games drew teams from 54 companies to Hancock County on April 23rd, including Yusen Logistics, a global company that operates in several warehouses in the county. MAVPAK, a Fishers-based packaging distribution and equipment company, throws the event every year to commemorate central Indiana’s logistics industry.

Dressed in customized flight suits to match their Top Gun theme, the team from Yusen Logistics joined dozens of others to compete in a variety of games inspired by their profession. They assembled cardboard boxes as fast as they could and tossed them toward larger boxes in an effort to score points. They relayed with pallet jacks. They sped to move boxes pushing rolling carts. They raced to place boxes on pallets while blindfolded, relying on their coworkers for guidance. They cheered, they danced, they high-fived.
MAVPAK serves warehouses, distribution centers and manufacturing facilities. John Goo, owner of the company, said the idea for Pallet Games stemmed from people he works with in the logistics industry looking for ways to celebrate their employees. The event has been held in the Indianapolis metropolitan area for the past several years.
“It’s really about giving the employers who care so much about their employees a chance to show it,” Goo said.
Hancock County operation True Brands also participated in the festivities.
The Golden Pallet went to Dick’s Sporting Goods, with Adidas coming in second and Pacers Sports and Entertainment in third.
Goo said the event highlights an industry that’s extremely important to the area’s economy, adding Indianapolis’ logistics sector draws interest from across the country.
“It is a massive employer,” he said.
Pallet Games isn’t only about giving back to those in the logistics industry, but those in their communities as well. The event’s $40,000 in revenue went to nonprofit organizations The Julian Center, Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, and Feed Your Neighbor.
