The Hancock Economic Development Council is starting a new year with some new Executive Officers.

Earlier this week, the HEDC Board voted to appoint David Spencer President. The Director of Marketing & Community Engagement for NineStar Connect replaces Dr. Harold Olin, the Greenfield Central Schools Superintendent who just completed his term as HEDC President and will remain on the Executive Committee. The Board also selected Jon Miller, Chief Information Officer for Hancock Health, as Vice President, replacing Spencer's former spot in that role.

Greenfield City Councilman Dan Riley will remain HEDC Secretary. Bryan Miller, Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer for GBC Bank, is the new Treasurer, replacing Jon Miller's former spot in that role. Matt Brauer, Vice President of Development and Operations for The Peterson Company; and Hancock County Councilman Jim Shelby will remain ex-officio members.

Jeffrey Somers, Vice President, Business Development & Cash Management Officer for GBC Bank and the HEDC Board’s President before Harold Olin, stepped down from the Executive Committee but remains on the Board.

The HEDC is grateful for all those who serve on its Board and invest as a Member. The nonprofit organization’s membership is dynamic and diverse, hailing from governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Together with its staff, the HEDC works tirelessly to connect opportunities to economic success for the betterment of Hancock County. If you are interested in joining, learn more here.
