The second round of Community Crossings Matching Grants were announced Thursday morning, with several municipalities across Hancock County receiving funding.
In Thursday’s announcement, the towns of Fortville and McCordsville each were awarded, as was the county government, as Fortville received $892,282.50, McCordsville received $1,027,778.25, and the county received $620,645.00.
McCordsville Town Manager Tim Gropp said that the funding across several rounds of Community Crossings awards has allowed the town to keep up on road paving and repaving, including the resurfacing and widening of County Road 500 West as the main project that received funding in Thursday’s announcement. He says the town is already in preparation to apply for the next round of grants in January.
