Three national organizations are offering grants in the areas of nutrition, education and research.

United States Department of Agriculture

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is making available $4.5 million in funding to establish three additional USDA Nutrition Hubs in communities across the country. The new Nutrition Hubs will provide tailored and scalable approaches to equitably advance food and nutrition security and help prevent diet-related chronic diseases, especially in historically underserved communities.

National Center for Education Research

The National Center for Education Research seeks to provide national leadership in expanding knowledge and understanding of education outcomes for all learners from early childhood education through postsecondary and adult education, and employment and wage outcomes when relevant.

There are two opportunities available:

  • From Seedlings to Scale - for Phase 1 applications that seek to develop products, policies, and processes within an identified focus area to support ideas as they grow from seedlings to scalable solutions. Awards will be $300,000 to $500,000 for one year.
  • Research Networks Focused on Critical Problems of Education Policy and Practice - applications should address the topic of Accelerate, Transform, Scale Initiative Hub. The initiative supports education R&D to create scalable solutions to improve education outcomes for all learners and eliminate persistent achievement and attainment gaps. Awards will be $500,0000 to $1.5 million per year for five years.
