Hancock County's unemployment rate was 3.4% for March 2024. That's down slightly from 3.6% in February 2024, but up from 3% in March 2023.
For March 2024, Indiana's unemployment rate was 4.1% and the U.S. unemployment rate was 3.9%.
Hancock County's March 2024 unemployment rate ranked 73rd out of Indiana's 92 counties. In the central Indiana region, Madison County had the highest unemployment rate at 4.3% (30th statewide) and Hamilton County had the lowest at 3.2% (88th statewide).
