The Hancock Economic Development Council welcomes Anna Voorhis as its new Operations Manager.

Anna brings a background of over 14 years with Hancock County government, as well as experience in the fields of journalism and insurance.

She worked for the New Palestine Press for about eight years, including as its Advertising Manager and Editor. Then she worked as a licensed insurance agent before transitioning to County government. Anna began in the Hancock County Auditor’s Office, and held positions including Deputy Auditor and Accounts Payable Supervisor. For the last three years, she served as Registrar for the Vital Records Division at the Hancock County Health Department.

Anna is excited to work in her new role.

“Economic development is vital to improve the quality of life for Hancock residents, workers and businesses,” she said. “What I’m intrigued about is all the moving parts that it takes to run this operation, and I’m just super excited about becoming a valuable member of the team.”

Outside the office, Anna enjoys spending time with family, food, cooking, and writing. She has lived in Hancock County for 24 years, and her favorite part about it is the people.

“It’s a great community and it still has the small, hometown feel even as it continues to grow,” she said.
