Call for Proposals

The 70-40-Greater Mt. Comfort Corridor/Hancock READI Region invites our community stakeholders to submit a project proposal for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI). The Indiana Economic Development Corporation is awarding $500 million throughout the state to promote Indiana’s talent development and economic growth. Identified regions throughout Indiana can be awarded up to $50 million. Our region, which consists of most of Hancock County and Eastern Indianapolis, would like to submit a regional development plan to secure READI funding.

To submit a strategic and innovative plan, we invite community stakeholders, including businesses, nonprofits, and other community organizations and entities, to submit a project proposal for our consideration. Project proposals must align with one or more of the following categories:

  • Quality of Place: Examples include workforce housing, infrastructure, cultural facilities, community spaces, civic initiatives, and DEI initiatives.
  • Innovation: Examples include research and development partnerships and equipment, cyber security, and coding.
  • Entrepreneurship: Examples include business incubation, coworking spaces, makerspaces, digital literacy and adoption by employers.
  • Workforce/Talent Initiatives: Examples include workforce training, facilities, and equipment.
