This three-day, hands-on workshop introduces the essential principles of electrical safety controls used in industrial automation. Designed for technicians, electricians, engineers, maintenance personnel, and other industrial professionals with a working knowledge of relay logic and control systems, this course bridges electrical fundamentals with practical, real-world safety applications.

Participants will learn to interpret control schematics, apply safety categories and standards, and work with common safety devices such as E-stops, door interlocks, light curtains, safety relays, and safety PLCs. Through guided exercises and troubleshooting with actual industrial prints, attendees gain the practical skills needed to design and maintain safe, compliant control systems.

Topics include:

  • Industrial electrical safety and standards (Categories 1–4)
  • Relay and Boolean logic review
  • Safety hardware: relays, E-stops, door switches, light curtains, and area scanners
  • Safety relays, controllers, and PLCs
  • Troubleshooting real-world safety circuits

Prerequisites: Basic understanding of industrial electrical control systems

Intended Audience: Technicians, electricians, engineers, maintenance personnel, and other industrial professionals

Workshop Length: 24 hours / 3 days
