The Department of Energy (DoE) has funded a grant project to help automotive industry companies diversify into non-automotive industries.

As part of this initiative, Purdue MEP will work directly with selected manufacturers to evaluate production systems, technology capabilities, workforce skills, financing options, and market opportunities. These assessments support the development of a customized business expansion or conversion plan aligned with the project’s Business Opportunity Playbook.

This free webinar will explain the program, describe the deliverables and support received, and the expected time commitment. Companies can use this session to determine whether the project is a good fit for their needs.

Manufacturers selected for the grant project will receive consulting support from Purdue MEP. Based on the current capabilities of your company, Purdue MEP develops non-automotive product manufacturing recommendations for each participating supplier. Conexus Indiana, a partner in this program, will assemble a team of subject matter experts to provide feedback on the recommended courses of action.

Participants in the program may also be eligible to apply for a 50% matching grant (up to $300,000) to support the implementation of recommended strategies.

Intended Audience: Indiana automotive industry suppliers who want to diversify company revenue to offset the reduction of production of ICE components, program delays as OEMs pause/alter EV output, or other automotive industry cyclic effects.

Workshop Length: One hour
