Randy Sorrell has served as Executive Director of the Hancock Economic Development Council since 2019 and has helped lead the organization for 25 years. He joined the HEDC Board of Directors in 1999 and then its Executive Committee four years later, a position he held until becoming Executive Director. Randy grew up in New Castle, Indiana and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with minors in History and Business Administration from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, followed by a Master of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics. He then earned a J.D. from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was admitted to the bars in that state as well as Indiana. Randy practiced law in Tulsa for about a year before moving back to Indiana and eventually buying a law practice in Fortville. He is married to Dr. Margaret (Meg) Fitzsimmons, with whom he loves to travel. Randy is also the proud father of daughter, Sydney (34); and son, Sawyer (30); as well as the proud grandfather of granddaughters, Imogen and Gwen.
